This fruity peach smoothie is perfect for those busy mornings where you need something you can grab and go. With 21 g of protein, you’ll feel satisfied all morning!
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups (375 mL) frozen sliced peaches
- ½ cup (125 mL) 1% plain kefir or low-fat milk
- 1 cup (250 mL) 0% fat plain Greek yogurt
- 3 Tbsp (45 mL) hemp hearts
- 1 Tbsp (15 mL) ground flax seed
Instructions
- Combine peaches, kefir, yogurt, hemp hearts and ground flax in a blender. Puree until smooth. Divide into two glasses or to-go containers.
Tips
- Nutrition know-how: Whole fruits contain more vitamins and fibre than fruit juice. Smoothies are a great way to enjoy whole fruits. Try different options in the same 1 ½ cup amount in the recipe.
- Ingredient spotlight: Hemp hearts or hemp seeds are a source of plant-based protein and provide heart healthy polyunsaturated omega-3 and omega-6 fat.
